What is the purpose of Pakistan with Afghanistan?

As the day for the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan approaches, the Taliban are taking control of one region after another at a hurricane speed. There have been rumors for a long time that Pakistan is cooperating with the Taliban through military and intelligence.

But what is Pakistan's purpose in Afghanistan, what does Pakistan really want there? This question arises in the present context.

In this regard, the researcher of the Center for International Studies and Diplomacy at the Swiss University in London and Pakistan political analyst. Ayesha Siddique said Pakistan's main strategic goal is to make India as weak and irrelevant as possible in Afghanistan.

In his words, Pakistan's main goal is to ensure that India does not play a role in shaping Afghanistan's political and security policy in the future. The Taliban is Pakistan's main tool in achieving that goal.

But why is Pakistan so concerned about India's presence in Afghanistan?

In this context. Siddique said Pakistan has always believed that India was supporting ethnic discontent and insurgency in Pakistan in collusion with the Afghan government in Kabul. Pakistan thinks India is inciting Pashtun nationalism. Is helping separatists in Balochistan.

Pakistan has at various times openly accused the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), known as the Pakistani Taliban, of helping India with training, weapons, money and shelter inside Afghanistan.

When the Indian envoy met the US special envoy to Afghanistan, Zalmai Khalilzad, in Doha last month, Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said India's unusual presence in Afghanistan was suspicious. He said Afghanistan could have bilateral relations and trade with India. India can go there and do development work, Pakistan has no problem with that. But it is not normal for them to have such a large presence in a country with which India has no border.

"If India acts against us from Afghan soil, aiding terrorism, we have good reason to worry," he said.

Zakariya Constantino, a US State Department security analyst, said India had long been trying to encircle Pakistan by building a base in Afghanistan out of fear of Islamabad.

The US analyst said that this concern has been working in Pakistan since the 1980s and that is why Islamabad has always wanted a pro-Pakistan government in Kabul.

Analysts say Pakistan's position on India could become stronger after the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan. Pakistan is very angry with what the Indian government has done with Kashmir and they can shed that bitterness in Afghanistan.
